Abstract

Why is it that alternative transportation systems or technologies is not analysed properly in relation to their assumed positive contributions?

Vested interests, initially very high costs, lack of co-ordinating actors and hesitant feelings for new technologies are pieces in the puzzle.

SIKA has carried out a study of a General Transportation System, now known as GTS, based on the general idea of podcars.

The GTS is presented as the eclectic or cross-over technology which could ease the burden of traditional transport systems.
The presentation is underlined by showing a newly elaborated version of the animation Bubbles and Beams - a convenient future.
